Away with Words

'Away with Words' is a publication design project that focuses on editorial design and illustrations for publication. For this personal project, I chose three online articles that I chanced upon and decided to redesign and restructure the text and image - to make it suitable to be published in an imaginary magazine called ‘Away with Words’.

 

Illustrations and collage-styled art is usually not my cup of tea, so this was a conscious attempt to try something new! For the illustrations, I chose one key word from the article, and used design and photographs (taken by me) to create simple, cohesive, collage-styled illustrations. For placement of headings, subheadings, and body text, I used simple gridlines and a two-column format.
